True Keepers

Privacy Policy

True Keepers takes your privacy seriously. This page explains exactly what data we collect, why, and who processes it.

Cookies and local storage

True Keepers sets one functional cookie: locale-pref. It stores your language preference (English or Dutch) for 30 days so you don't have to switch every visit. No tracking, no advertising, no third-party sharing. This cookie is functional and does not require your consent under Dutch law.

Community features (ownership tracker, repair log, poll) store your vote in your browser's localStorage so the interface remembers your choice. When you submit a vote, the server also stores an anonymous vote row with a salted IP hash to reduce duplicate submissions.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is stored with MailerLite (processor). We use double opt-in: you only become a subscriber after clicking the confirmation link in the email we send you. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every newsletter. We use your email address only to send the newsletter. Never sold, never shared.

Contact form

When you send a message via the contact form, your name, email address, and message are forwarded to us by email via Resend (processor). Your message is not stored in a database. It arrives as an email and is handled like any private correspondence.

Community votes

When you interact with community features (ownership tracker, repair log, vote), your IP address is hashed with a one-way function before being stored in Supabase (processor). The raw IP is never stored. The hash is used solely to prevent duplicate votes.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to measure page views and affiliate link clicks. It sets no cookies and does not track you across sites. Vercel processes anonymised data (page URL, referrer, device type) on our behalf. No personal profile is built.

Error tracking

We use Sentry for error monitoring. When a technical error occurs, Sentry may capture diagnostic data including your browser, operating system, and the page where the error happened. No personally identifiable data is deliberately included.

Affiliate links

Some links are affiliate links. If you click and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The retailer (e.g. Amazon, Bol.com) sets their own cookies as part of their tracking. See their privacy policy for details.

Data processors

The following parties process data on our behalf: MailerLite (newsletter), Resend (email delivery), Supabase (community votes), Sentry (error tracking), Vercel (hosting). All are bound by data processing agreements.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us via the contact form.
